Valencia province
Homes in Valencia province, and how we protect them
In the city most people live in flats, many in older buildings where the street door and the flat door are the only real barriers. A door sensor and a camera detector in the hall cover the usual way in.
Along the coast, homes are holiday apartments and villas that are busy in summer and quiet the rest of the year.
Installation is usually arranged within 1 to 5 days of signing up.
How we protect you
Home security in Valencia province: how we protect you
Home security in Valencia province is less about one kind of house than about the hours and months when nobody is in it. A chalet in Bétera, Godella, Rocafort or L’Eliana is lived in all year, yet it stands empty from the morning drive into Valencia until the school run in the evening, and again for most of August. A beach apartment in Cullera, Gandia or Oliva, right up to the border with Dénia, often belongs to someone whose real home is a flat in the city or a house in the UK, and it can go from the end of September to Easter without a visit.
From a Cullera apartment to a chalet in Mas Camarena, the alarm reacts in the same way. Picture the terrace door of a ground-floor flat on the Gandia seafront forced on a wet night in February. The door sensor reacts first, then the camera detector in the living room captures images and sound, which an operator at Segurma’s Alarm Receiving Centre checks before ringing anyone. If it is a real intrusion, the police get the call and the pictures, the siren goes off inside, and you get the alert whether you are at your desk in Valencia or at home in Manchester. If it was the neighbour from the third floor who waters your plants and forgot the code, nobody is sent.
In the chalets inland, the app does most of the daily work. You can arm the alarm once you are on the road into Valencia, check at lunchtime that it is still on, and disarm it from the office when the pool man arrives in L’Eliana. The control panel talks to the monitoring centre over the internet and over the 4G/5G mobile network, and it has a backup battery, so when an autumn storm cuts the power in an urbanisation near Chiva, or the fibre drops in a Gandia block, the house stays watched.
That is why owners here can stop worrying about whichever home they are not in. What makes the difference with an alarm in Valencia province is the person behind it: a monitored alarm with 24/7 monitoring, connected to the police through the operator who has already checked the images. The beach flat in Oliva is watched all winter, the chalet in Godella every working day, and if anything happens you know about it on your phone while it is still going on.

Alarms for apartments, townhouses and villas in Valencia province
The free survey sets the final kit. This is what we usually fit here, depending on the home.
Beach apartments in Gandia, Cullera and Oliva
Apartments in the tall blocks on the Gandia beachfront and around Cullera bay, or in the lower ones behind the beach at Oliva, usually open onto a sea-facing terrace. We protect the front door and, on the ground and first floors, that terrace, which is the easiest way in when the block is quiet. The Kit Tranquilidad covers it: a sensor on the entrance, another on the terrace door at €1 a month, camera detectors in the hall and living room, the keypad and the siren. Flats with their own patio add a sensor for each extra window.
Chalets in Bétera, Godella and L’Eliana
Chalets in Mas Camarena and Torre en Conill in Bétera, Campolivar in Godella, or the pine-lined streets of El Vedat de Torrent have doors on several sides, a garage that opens into the house and often a pool. The Kit Tranquilidad Plus brings two door sensors and the IP camera, so you can look in from the office; the other outside doors and the garage door take extra sensors at €1 a month, and camera detectors cover the ground floor and the stairs. A separate flat for the grandparents can take a second IP camera at €6 a month.
Townhouses in Puçol, Sagunto and Alboraya
Terraced townhouses on the newer streets of Puçol, Puerto de Sagunto and Alboraya tend to have a small front garden, a back patio, a garage below and bedrooms over two floors. We put sensors on the front door, the patio door and the door from the garage, and place camera detectors where anyone coming in from the patio has to pass. The Kit Tranquilidad is usually enough, with two extra door sensors at €1 a month. A summer-only townhouse near Port Saplaya or Patacona is worth the Plus, so you can look in over the winter.
When nobody is there
Holiday homes, empty months and squatters in Valencia province
On this coast the empty months are long and predictable. From October until Easter, many of the blocks on the Gandia and Cullera seafronts have their shutters down, the beach bars in Oliva are closed and the owner of the flat next door is probably in Valencia, Madrid or Leeds until June. Inland the gaps are shorter but just as regular: every working day, and most of August, when the chalets of Bétera and L’Eliana empty out for the beach. Those are the weeks when a forced terrace door in Cullera or a broken patio window in Rocafort can go unnoticed until somebody next turns up.
Once squatters have settled into an empty apartment in Gandia, getting it back is a slow legal process. With a monitored alarm, the police are told during the break-in, not when somebody notices the broken shutter weeks later. Give one of the three tags to the neighbour in your urbanisation who keeps an eye on the chalet, and another to the agency or the cleaner who looks after the beach flat in Oliva: the app tells you every time they come and go, and you can disarm it for them from wherever you are.
Price
What a monitored alarm costs in Valencia province
In Valencia province you start at €24.90 a month for the first 12 months. A beach apartment in Gandia, Oliva or Cullera is usually covered by the Kit Tranquilidad, then €43.90 a month. The chalets inland, from Bétera to Chiva, usually end up on the Kit Tranquilidad Plus at €49.90, because families want the IP camera to look in during the working day, and some add an outdoor detector or extra garden-door sensors. Both prices include VAT, equipment and installation, the minimum term is 24 months, and the free survey at your home settles the final kit.

Questions
What owners in Valencia province ask us
Anything else? Ask us on WhatsApp, in English.
Can I have an alarm in a rented flat?
Yes, with your landlord’s agreement. The standard Segurma kit is wireless, so it goes in without building work.
Will a camera record the street or the shared stairs?
The technician positions cameras to cover your own home. Spanish data protection rules limit filming of shared and public spaces, and the installation follows them.
How quickly can it be installed?
Usually within 1 to 5 days of signing up.
Can I have an outdoor alarm for the garden and pool of a chalet near Valencia?
Yes. An outdoor detector costs €6 a month and watches part of the plot, such as the lawn between the pool and the back door of a chalet in Bétera or L’Eliana, so the alert goes out while someone is still outside. At the free survey the technician looks at where an intruder would come over the wall or through the pines at the back, and points it there rather than at the street.
We have a dog at our chalet in Godella. Will it set off the alarm?
Tell us about the dog when you book the free survey. The technician places the detectors with pets in mind, which in a Godella or Rocafort chalet usually means asking where the dog sleeps and whether it has the run of the ground floor or stays in the garden. And if the dog does trigger something, the operator at the Alarm Receiving Centre sees it on the images and nobody is sent.
Can I add a smoke detector to a chalet or beach flat in Valencia province?
Yes, for €2.50 a month, and it becomes part of the same alarm, so if it goes off you get the alert on your phone like any other. It is worth thinking about for a chalet among the pines in El Vedat or El Bosque in Chiva, and for a beach flat in Cullera or Gandia that is left all winter with the fridge and the water heater still plugged in.
Do I need to be in Spain for the installation?
Someone needs to be at the property to let the technician in and be shown how the system works: you, a family member or someone you trust. If you'd rather be there yourself, we'll fit the date around your next trip.
Who installs and monitors the alarm?
Segurma, a Spanish security company founded in 1986 and listed in the Ministry of the Interior's National Private Security Register under no. 3082. Its own technicians install the system and its own Alarm Receiving Centre watches over it 24 hours a day.
